Role overview
HPS Investment Partners, now part of BlackRock, is a leading global credit-focused alternative investment manager providing creative capital solutions and generating attractive risk-adjusted returns. The Fund Accounting team at HPS is responsible for maintaining the books and records of HPS funds, including NAV calculations, fee management, expense review, and capital calls/distributions. The Fund Accounting Associate plays a key role in this process, working closely with internal teams and external administrators to ensure accuracy and compliance. This role involves monthly/quarterly book closings, financial statement preparation, and ad hoc reporting, supporting both fund operations and investor requests.
Responsibilities
- Monthly and quarterly closing of the funds’ books with fund administrators
- Preparation and review of partners’ capital statements
- Preparation and review of capital call and distribution calculations and notices
- Review of fund expenses for accuracy and coordination of accruals and payments
- Calculation and review of monthly investor return and NAV estimates
- Preparation and review of quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements
- Ad hoc reporting and projects
- Liaising with both internal HPS departments (e.g., Middle Office, Cash Management, Asset Management/Valuation, Legal, Product Specialist, Investor Relations, Management Company Accounting) and external third-party fund administrators
- Fund setup and operation support
- Oversight, review, and reconciliation of the books and records with internal and external teams
- Management and performance fee review
- AUM, performance, and fee reporting and revenue recognition support
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of combined experience in a Fund Accounting role, and/or public accounting role supporting clients within the financial services industry (preferably within Private Credit, Public Credit, Private Equity or Hedge Funds)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to continuously learn
- Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Ability to consistently be attentive to detail while meeting critical deadlines and handling multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong organizational skills
- Thorough knowledge of internal controls
- Ability to work with large volumes of data and maintain high levels of accuracy
Nice to have
- Master's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Big four public accounting experience
- Chartered Accountant (or equivalent)

- Hybrid Work Schedule and Shift Timings: 4/1 split (4 days in office, 1 day remote)
- This role requires working a late shift to support stakeholders across EMEA and US time zones (2 PM to 11 PM)
