Role overview
Responsibilities
- HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) home-office based preparation of Construction & Commissioning (C&C) relevant Scope of Works (SoW) and the respective documentation required for Request for Quotation (RfQ), clarifications, negotiations, selection of Subcontractor until Subcontracts signature.
- Preparation, development, implementation of the specific subcontracting strategy for a project, ensuring availability of the respective documentation required for the RfQ and the resulting executed Subcontract.
- Provide input to SCM so that the subcontracting process is established in line with the Master Time Schedule (MTS) with the aim to award each Subcontract based on 90% design maturity, so that construction commences as planned, in accordance with the timings and sequence of works detailed within the MTS.
- Prepare and participate during constructability reviews, facilitated by PCCM.
- Attend weekly meetings such as internal construction / site procurement meetings, design progress meetings (where applicable) and BoQ meetings.
- Attend meetings, as required, such as Project Change Control and Risk Management meetings, Quality Improvement Tool (QIT) follow up meetings and Subcontract handover meetings.
- As and when needed, seek clarification from C&C’s tendering team.
- Support during clarifications and negotiations with the aim of Subcontract award to bidder having best possible result in terms of scope, time and cost clarity and preferably within the as-sold budgets.
- Compare as sold with as tendered budgets, report and investigate differences where applicable.
- Share Lessons Learned (LL) within HE’s HVDC organization during and at the end of subcontracting development phases.
- Support the Subcontracting Delivery Manager (SDLM) with queries in relation to the Subcontracts handed over.
- Conducts all activities in accordance with HVDC’s Code of Ethics and HE company guidelines.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Requirements
- Minimum 10+ years of work experience.
- Relevant qualification of engineering degree in construction related field.
- Minimum of 3 years subcontract procurement experience and developing subcontracts, including commercial and contractual awareness.
- Technical or Engineering background is essential.
- Experience of successfully coordinating and managing multiple Subcontracts/ tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated success working in a team environment.
- Possess exceptional communication skills and be able to communicate to multiple levels within a company.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross functionally as a critical member of a project team.
- Must have a proactive, creative and analytic approach to continuous improvement in procuring Subcontracts.
- Demonstrate a high degree of independence, requiring minimal supervision from senior management.
