Key highlights
- On-Site in Bengaluru
- 5–10 years of product management experience required
- Focus on AI-powered media workflows (dubbing, localization, etc.)
- High-impact role with population-scale potential
Role overview
Sarvam is building India's full-stack sovereign AI platform, focusing on making AI work for India across research, models, infrastructure, and applications. Sarvam Studio, their media platform, offers AI-powered solutions like dubbing, live translation, text-to-speech, and audiobook generation, serving users from individual creators to large broadcasters. The Senior Product Manager role involves deeply understanding the media and entertainment industry, owning the Studio product roadmap for media customers, and driving the development of AI-powered media workflows. This is a hands-on builder role, requiring close collaboration with studios, broadcasters, and creators to ship product weekly and refine AI models in production.
Responsibilities
- Own the Studio product roadmap for media & entertainment customers end-to-end — from discovery with broadcasters, OTT platforms, and content studios, to specs, shipping, and measuring outcomes
- Translate media workflows into product: content ingestion, dubbing and localization pipelines, QC and human-in-the-loop review, delivery formats, and rights/compliance requirements that broadcast and streaming customers demand
- Define what 'good' means for AI-generated media — voice quality, lip-sync, emotional nuance, translation fidelity — and build the eval pipelines and feedback loops that hold the product to it
- Get into the details of how AI systems behave in production: model selection, prompt and pipeline design, latency and cost budgets, failure modes
- Work with the GTM team on pricing, packaging, and positioning for media segments — from per-minute creator pricing to enterprise localization contracts
- Be the voice of the media customer internally: relay precise product and model feedback (dubbing failures, audio artefacts, translation misses) to research, and close the loop with customers
- Track the AI-in-media landscape — content creation, localization, and playout platforms — and bring a sharp point of view on where Studio should build, partner, or pass
- Ship product every week, not plans
Requirements
- 5–10 years of product management experience, with real products shipped at meaningful scale
- Strong data skills: comfortable writing SQL, setting up funnels, and defining success metrics that matter (not vanity numbers)
- Strong product thinking: you start with the customer's problem, structure vague problem spaces, and ship v1 without over-engineering
- High ownership, high agency: you don't wait for permission, and you've stayed up to fix something because you couldn't let it stay broken
- Clear communicator — equally effective with a dubbing director, an enterprise buyer, and a research engineer
- Deep understanding of the content lifecycle: how content is produced, transformed (dubbing, subtitling), packaged, distributed, and monetized across broadcast and streaming
- Hands-on familiarity with generative AI in content workflows — voice synthesis, dubbing, video/audio generation — and clear thinking on quality vs. cost vs. speed trade-offs
Nice to have
- Strong preference for experience in media & entertainment — Video & Content first platforms OTT/streaming platforms (Prime Video, JioHotstar, Zee5, SonyLIV), broadcasters, studios, or media-tech/content-supply-chain companies (Adobe, Amagi, Prime Focus, or similar)
- You've shipped an AI-powered media product — content generation, dubbing, localization, voice, or video generation — that real customers used in production
- You've worked with media supply chain, playout, or content operations platforms and understand broadcast-grade quality and delivery standards
- You know what good dubbing sounds like — you can hear the difference between passable and broadcast-ready
- Experience with usage-based pricing and enterprise media contracts
- You've built agents or AI workflows yourself and have opinions on when to use them
Benefits
- Work alongside researchers, engineers, builders, and business leaders who move fast and hold each other to a very high bar
- High ownership and high impact, from day one
- Everything we do is AI-first, from the way we build and ship to the way we think about problems
- You can work on problems that could change how an entire country learns, works, and communicates
- Sarvam is a fast-moving, high talent-density team building full-stack AI for India, working on problems that push the frontiers of AI with real population-scale impact
