Assistant Manager - Market Researcher at Hitachi India Pvt. Ltd. (HIL) supports the research activities of Hitachi Research Institute (HRI), an internal strategic think-tank of Hitachi Ltd. The role involves collecting and analyzing information on macroeconomy, government policy, geopolitics, finance, technology, industry, and energy & environment in India and globally. The position requires identifying critical uncertainties, opportunities, and threats for Hitachi, and supervising junior researchers in the team. The role is part of a team-based environment with engagement with HRI’s Tokyo head office remotely.
Responsibilities
- Support the research activities of Hitachi Research Institute (HRI), headquartered in Tokyo, Japan
- Collect and organize information on macroeconomy, government policy/geopolitics, finance, technology, industry, and energy & environment in India as well as other regions globally
- Identify critical uncertainties for Hitachi, and opportunity/threat for Hitachi through comparison with the present status of business strategy of Hitachi and competitor benchmarking
- Work out measures to capture opportunities and reduce threats
- Supervise junior researcher in the team in India
Requirements
- Master’s degree in economics/commerce/business from a reputed college or university
- 7+ years of related work experience preferably with a market research/consulting/credit rating firm or strategy/corporate office of multinational company
- Ability to handle research & consultancy assignments independently including writing research proposal, conducting research (secondary, primary), report writing, communication with Hitachi businesses
- Open to travel both domestic and foreign
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Ability to use AI for research works
- Team management and good interpersonal skills for team building, stakeholder management
