Role overview
FundCount is a growing international fintech company with a 20-year history that provides a unified software solution for investment, general, and partnership accounting and analysis for investment management professionals. They are seeking an experienced DevOps Team Leader to lead their team of engineers, take ownership of infrastructure, and elevate CI/CD and automation processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of DevOps engineers (assigning tasks, tracking execution, conducting reviews).
- Develop the technical and soft skills of your team members, conduct 1-on-1s, and create development plans.
- Optimize and build efficient workflows within the team (Agile, Kanban/Scrum).
- Coordinate and maintain the rotation for monitoring critical infrastructure alerts, ensuring duties are distributed fairly and evenly across the team, including yourself.
- Develop and implement the DevOps methodology, GitOps strategy and infrastructure roadmap.
- Maintain close communication with Development, QA, PMs, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain pipelines for building, testing, and deploying applications (preferably GitLab CI / Jenkins).
- Manage infrastructure and configurations using Terraform, Ansible, AWS CloudFormation.
- Writing Dockerfiles, building images and orchestrating containers using Docker, Docker Compose.
- Build and maintain a comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and logging system (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, AWS CloudWatch).
- Ensure the reliability (SLA/SLO), fault tolerance, and security of the infrastructure.
Requirements
- 2+ years as a Team Lead, Tech Lead, or Senior DevOps (with mentoring responsibilities) leading a team of 3+ engineers.
- A total of 7+ years of experience in DevOps.
- Excellent knowledge of key AWS services: Compute & Network (EC2, VPC, Route 53, ELB/ALB), Containers (EKS, ECS, ECR), Storage & DB (S3, EFS, RDS (PostgreSQL/MySQL), DynamoDB), and Management & Security (IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Systems Manager).
- Understanding of networking principles (routing, VLANs, VPNs).
- Proven experience building and supporting complex pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, ArgoCD).
- Strong knowledge of Terraform.
- Experience with Ansible/Puppet/Chef.
- Deep knowledge of Docker (architecture, deployment, administration).
- Experience with the Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki/ELK stack.
- Excellent Linux and Windows knowledge, proficient in scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python).
- Strong communication, systems thinking, and a proactive attitude.
- Located in a time zone between UTC+1 and UTC+4 for effective team synchronization.
Nice to have
- Experience with Kubernetes
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional).
- Experience implementing DevSecOps practices.
- Experience with hybrid-cloud Kubernetes installations.
- Experience with other cloud providers (Azure, GCP).
- Experience with Microsoft services: Azure cloud, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Entra ID, Intune, Exchange, Teams, Defender for Identities, Purview, policies and best practices.
- Knowledge of requirements and experience with SOC2 (or other certifications like ISO/IEC 27001 or HIPAA).
