Key highlights

  • Required experience: 6+ years in B2B sales/business development in payments
  • Non-negotiable requirement: Existing network in the merchant payments or PSP space in APAC
  • Key benefit: Unlimited PTO
  • Salary/Compensation: Competitive salary and equity

Role overview

Mesh is expanding into APAC and is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to own the merchant and payment partnership pipeline across Singapore, Southeast Asia, South Korea, and Japan. This senior individual contributor role involves full-cycle sales, from prospecting through closing, for Mesh Pay's infrastructure, requiring a candidate who can operate independently in a high-velocity environment with direct visibility to company leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Own the merchant and PSP sales pipeline across APAC — identify, qualify, pitch, and close B2B partnerships with payment gateways, acquiring banks, PSPs, and merchants seeking crypto payment infrastructure
  • Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline of 20+ target accounts across Singapore, SEA, South Korea, and Japan, with particular focus on crypto-ready merchants and digital payment platforms
  • Lead commercial negotiations and structure partnerships with PSPs and merchant acquirers integrating Mesh Pay's deposits and payments APIs
  • Develop account plans for strategic targets; coordinate with Solutions Engineering and Product on technical requirements and integration scoping

Requirements

  • 6+ years in B2B sales or business development in payments, with meaningful time in merchant acquiring, PSP partnerships, or payment gateway BD
  • Demonstrable track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder commercial deals — not pipeline management, actual closed revenue
  • Deep familiarity with the APAC payments landscape: acquirer relationships, PSP ecosystems, and how merchants make vendor decisions across SEA, Korea, or Japan
  • Existing network in the merchant payments or PSP space in APAC — this is non-negotiable; we are not building your rolodex from scratch
  • Strong grasp of crypto payments, stablecoins, and digital asset infrastructure; you do not need to be an engineer but you need to speak credibly on these topics
  • Experience managing the full sales cycle independently — prospecting through close — in a lean or early-stage environment

Nice to have

  • Mandarin proficiency preferred (Mandarin-speaking markets are a key growth vector for this role)
  • Comfortable operating across jurisdictions with different regulatory postures; prior exposure to MAS-regulated fintechs or crypto-licensed businesses is a strong plus
  • Prior experience at a crypto exchange, stablecoin issuer, or crypto infrastructure company
  • Existing relationships at payment platforms active in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, or Japan
  • Familiarity with API-led commercial partnerships and ability to navigate technical conversations with product and engineering counterparts
  • Experience with Travel Rule compliance implications for payments businesses in APAC

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and equity
  • Comprehensive health coverage for you and your family
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Dedicated budget for courses, conferences, and certifications
  • Remote-friendly approach
  • Top-tier tools and equipment
