We are seeking a SQL Server DBA with 2-4 years of experience to manage, monitor, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases, including performance tuning, backup/recovery, and High Availability/Disaster Recovery solutions, while also supporting AWS RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL operations.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support SQL Server, Amazon RDS PostgreSQL, and Aurora PostgreSQL databases.
  • Perform installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, migrations, and maintenance activities.
  • Manage database monitoring, health checks, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Support backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
  • Analyze and optimize queries, indexes, and database configurations.
  • Handle production incidents and RCA (Root Cause Analysis) preparation.
  • Manage database security, access controls, encryption, and compliance requirements.
  • Automate operational tasks using PowerShell, SQL scripting, and Terraform.
  • Maintain runbooks, SOPs, and technical documentation.

Requirements

  • SQL Server DBA with 2-4 years of experience in managing, monitoring, and optimizing Microsoft SQL Server databases.
  • Hands-on expertise in SQL Server administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and High Availability/Disaster Recovery solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of T-SQL, troubleshooting, patching, upgrades, and database security.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server 2016/2019/2022 and AWS RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with backup/recovery, performance tuning, patching, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Knowledge of HA/DR technologies such as Always On AG, Multi-AZ, and Read Replicas.
  • Strong SQL/T-SQL skills and query optimization experience.
  • Familiarity with CloudWatch, Performance Insights, PowerShell, and monitoring tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong ownership and customer-focused mindset.
  • Experience handling P1/P2 incidents and problem management.
  • Full-time availability with shift timings (4:45p-1:15a).
  • In-office collaboration at least three (3) days per week, with flexibility to work from home two (2) days per week.

Nice to have

  • Microsoft SQL Server certifications.
  • Experience with Cloud Platforms (Azure SQL, AWS RDS SQL Server).
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow, Tidal, and Commvault.
  • Exposure to scripting and automation initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of Terraform, CI/CD, ServiceNow, Tidal, and Commvault.
