Role overview

As a Senior Product Designer on the Pair team, you will design collaboration experiences for technical interviews where developers demonstrate skills. The role combines human-AI interaction with design innovation, focusing on creating intuitive interfaces that reflect both proven paradigms and new AI-powered capabilities. You'll shape the entire candidate journey from invitation to interviewer feedback, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to balance urgency and quality standards. This position sits at the intersection of visual design, interaction patterns, and AI agent systems that compound quality across teams.
Responsibilities
- Design features balancing traditional UI patterns with AI-powered interaction designs
- Translate design specifications into agent-buildable technical compositions
- Iterate with engineers analyzing agent outputs to identify refinement opportunities
- Establish reusable design components and guidelines through prompt engineering
- Conduct collaborative research to validate and refine design decisions
- Partner with product leaders and engineers on strategic design systems
- Manage end-to-end candidate experience from invitation to interview completion
- Handle multiple priorities with business impact awareness
- Strengthen design culture through agent-based workflow sharing
Requirements
- 5+ years professional product design experience
- 3+ years enterprise/consumer product design background
- Expertise with agentic coding tools (Claude Code/Codex/Cursor or equivalent)
- Portfolio demonstrating operational design with code execution results
- Proficiency with iteration design using AI development tools
- Ability to work independently with technical stakeholders
- Proven track record of self-guided product completion
- Experience building front-end implementations manually
