Role overview
The Hitachi Energy India Development Centre (IDC) is a Research and Development hub with around 500 engineers, specialists, and experts focused on developing and maintaining technology, products, and digital solutions, including product integration, testing, cybersecurity, and certification. The IDC is located in Chennai and Bangalore, with product test labs spanning 20,000 sq.ft. As a Business R&D Experienced Professional, you will work on Product Integration and System Testing, with involvement in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile testing, and the use of test management tools like TFS/MTM and Azure DevOps.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for Substation Automation, SCADA Test Automation
- Develop, deploy and maintain a SCADA system
- Contribute to IEC61850-based engineering concepts and solutions to be applied in IED Configuration Tools
- Contribute to functional documentation and review
- Coordinate on technical front with stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines

Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering
- 3-6 years of experience in system integration, verification, or quality assurance in power systems
- Knowledge in Engineering or development of products/components for Substation Automation/SCADA System/Numerical Protection/Process Automation/Power Management Systems/Energy Management Systems
- Knowledge in Implementing or Engineering with Communication protocols: IEC61850
- Knowledge of product integration and system testing
- Experience in all phases of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile testing
- Experience in usage of test management tools like TFS/MTM, Azure DevOps
- Knowledge on Substation Automation, SCADA systems & Network Control Center concepts
- Knowledge on testing for SA Communication protocols like IEC60870-5-103, IEC 61850, DNP3, IEC60870-5-101, IEC60870-5-104
- Knowledge on DMS, ADMS, Distribution Management
- Should be a team player
- Understand and optimize the architecture and design aspects from Domain perspective
- Proficiency in both spoken & written English language
