Role overview
Enterprise Data Administration is looking for a Data Infrastructure Administrator to join the Data Services team. In this role, you will design, build, and govern data infrastructure solutions centered on Snowflake and other modern tools, supporting enterprise use cases including analytics, data science, and financial reporting. This is an exciting opportunity for an administrator to come in and help shape the data culture at a rapidly growing company.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain the Snowflake environment, managing users, RBAC (Role-Based Access Control), and warehouse scaling strategies
- Administer and govern additional technologies including Fivetran, Databricks, dbt, Airflow, and Monte Carlo
- Identify bottleneck queries in Snowflake and inefficiencies in other technologies to optimize performance
- Implement data security standards, including Dynamic Data Masking, Row-Level Security (RLS), and integrating SSO/SAML providers (like Okta)
- Automate operations using Python or SQL, moving away from manual clicks for user provisioning, monitoring alerts, and routine maintenance tasks
- Monitor credit consumption and storage usage, implementing guardrails to ensure infrastructure scales without budget surprises
- (Optional) Help manage the Tableau Ecosystem by overseeing the Tableau Cloud environment, ensuring site health, managing permissions, publications, and certifying data sources for business users
Requirements
- B.S., M.S., or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in Data Infrastructure Administration
- Experience administering data platform technologies such as Databricks and Snowflake
- Experience with SQL and Python
- Experience managing data infrastructure on a public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- A security-first mindset with expertise in data security standards, data governance, security, and compliance
Nice to have
- At least 2+ years of experience with Azure Cloud Computing and Infrastructure
- At least 2+ years of experience with dbt
- At least 2+ years of experience with Airflow
- At least 2+ years of experience with Spark
- At least 2+ years of experience with Terraform
