Role overview
PeopleGrove has built a dynamic cloud-based software platform for universities, companies, and nonprofits to power mentoring and networking initiatives. As a full-stack engineering manager, you'll become an integral member of a small team of engineers, working throughout the product and stack to build new features, improve the product, and build out our technical ops.
Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional engineering teams to deliver scalable, high-quality software products.
- Drive technical excellence, people development, execution, and operational excellence while working closely with Product, QA, Design, and Architecture teams.
- Lead and mentor engineering teams through coaching and career development.
- Own end-to-end delivery of engineering initiatives with predictable, high-quality releases.
- Drive architecture reviews, code quality, testing, CI/CD, and DevOps best practices.
- Collaborate with Product, QA, and stakeholders to prioritize and execute the roadmap.
- Monitor engineering metrics, SLA compliance, production stability, and operational excellence.
- Drive incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
- Promote the use of AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, code quality, testing, and documentation.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and resource planning.
- Deliver roadmap commitments with predictable, high-quality releases while maintaining platform stability and SLA compliance.
- Build and develop high-performing engineering teams through mentoring, resource planning, AI adoption, and continuous process improvement.
Requirements
- Strong experience with PHP/Laravel or similar backend frameworks.
- Experience with React or Vue.js.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, MySQL/PostgreSQL, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, CI/CD, and Agile.
