Role overview

NTT DATA is seeking a MuleSoft Engineer with 3-5 years of experience to join their team remotely in Karnataka, India. The role focuses on designing, developing, and supporting API-led integrations using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, requiring hands-on experience building scalable integrations, working with REST/SOAP APIs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable enterprise solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain MuleSoft integration applications and APIs.
  • Build API-led connectivity solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including System, Process, and Experience APIs.
  • Develop integrations using Mule 4, DataWeave 2.0, API Manager, Anypoint Studio, and Runtime Manager.
  • Create and maintain RAML/OAS specifications, API documentation, reusable assets, and integration design documents.
  • Integrate enterprise systems using REST, SOAP, JMS, databases, file systems, Salesforce, and other SaaS/on-premise applications.
  • Implement error handling, logging, monitoring, security, and exception-management standards.
  • Configure API policies, client ID enforcement, OAuth 2.0, basic authentication, and other API security mechanisms.
  • Participate in code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and deployment activities across DEV, QA, UAT, and Production environments.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and provide timely resolution and stakeholder updates.
  • Collaborate with solution architects, business analysts, developers, QA teams, and client stakeholders.
  • Support CI/CD implementation using tools such as Git, Maven, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in MuleSoft development and integration.
  • Strong experience with Mule 4, Anypoint Studio, Anypoint Platform, API Manager, and Runtime Manager.
  • Proficiency in DataWeave 2.0 for data transformation.
  • Experience designing and implementing RESTful and SOAP web services.
  • Working knowledge of API-led connectivity and integration best practices.
  • Experience with RAML and/or OpenAPI Specification.
  • Knowledge of connectors such as HTTP, Database, Salesforce, SFTP/FTP, JMS, and File connectors.
  • Good understanding of exception handling, logging, caching, retries, batch processing, and asynchronous messaging.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL.
  • Familiarity with Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of application monitoring and log analysis tools, such as Splunk, CloudHub logs, or Anypoint Monitoring.
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Nice to have

  • MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1 certification.
  • Experience with CloudHub, Runtime Fabric, or on-premise Mule runtime deployments.
  • Experience integrating with Salesforce, SAP, ServiceNow, AWS, Azure, or other enterprise platforms.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies and Jira.
  • Exposure to secure API development standards and DevOps practices.
