Role overview
The IT Project Manager I is an individual contributor role responsible for leading enterprise-wide, cross-functional strategic IT initiatives. PMs in this role lead a diverse range of project types including new product and service launches, large-scale application development, systems integration, BPO arrangements, operational efficiency improvements, process engineering, and infrastructure upgrades and deployments. All project work is executed in line with defined organizational project standards aligned with industry best practices, and the role requires strong leadership and influencing capabilities to manage matrixed teams. The PM I is responsible for managing regional IT projects, typically collaborating with Program Managers, PM IIIs, or Directors of IT on various IT project types.
Responsibilities
- Lead a variety of project types including launching new products and services, large-scale application development, systems integration, BPO arrangements, operational efficiency improvements, process engineering, and infrastructure upgrade and deployment
- Lead all project efforts in accordance with defined organizational project standards aligned with industry best practices
- Implement projects per established plans
- Contribute to defining, planning, orchestrating and delivering assigned projects
- Manage all phases of the project life cycle, and collaborate with BU IT partners to oversee all SDLC phases of projects
- Manage project scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed time, cost and quality parameters, and escalate issues as appropriate to PM III, Director IT or Program Manager
- Collaborate with project sponsors to validate financial forecasts, and reconcile project-related resources and other project expenditures
- Develop communication plans and interfaces to execute role responsibilities
- Prepare input for key stakeholders on various aspects of assigned initiatives
- Represent projects in project governance and inter-departmental forums
- Chair weekly Core Team and monthly Operating Committee meetings to review progress with key constituents
- Track project milestones, develop, maintain and report on an overall integrated delivery plan, and report deviations from the plan
- Develop project documentation for review by the project sponsor
- Manage regional IT projects
- Typically work with Program Managers, PM IIIs, or Directors of IT on different types of IT projects
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or technology
- Minimum 3 years IT / Project Management experience in a Multinational Organization
- Focused team player who is comfortable under pressure
- Good communication skills
- Exposure to PMBOK
- Strong presentation skills
- Highly organized
Nice to have
- PMP / PRINCE 2 or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) Certification
