Roles & Responsibilities : Data Consultant (Data Modeling & Logistics Solutions) Title: Data Consultant – Data Modeling Experience Level: 4 – 6 Years (5+ years preferred) Domain: Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain & Plant Logistics Practice Area: Data Solutions & Consulting (Application/Solution Modeling) Overview We are seeking a mid-level Data Consultant to design, implement, and maintain robust data models and data exchange solutions supporting manufacturing and plant logistics operations. In this role, you will work hands-on with business and functional teams to translate operational supply chain workflows into logical, physical, and dimensional models, while developing the underlying Oracle PL/SQL mechanisms and data integration pipelines. Key responsibilities: Data Modeling & Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain logical and physical data models, dimensional schemas (star/snowflake), and data vault structures using Oracle Data Modeler or equivalent tools. Implementation Projects: Actively contribute to and execute end-to-end data modeling and engineering implementation and rollout lifecycles for business-critical operational applications. Database Programming & Customization: Develop and maintain stored procedures, packages, functions, and triggers in Oracle PL/SQL tailored to business requirements and operational logic. Data Integration & Exchange: Design and implement robust data interface and delta-capture mechanisms, ETL routines, and automated file exchange processes (SFTP/FTP) between ERP, WMS/MES, and downstream data repositories. Performance Tuning & Debugging: Perform query optimization, indexing strategies, debugging, and execution-plan tuning to ensure high performance and data accuracy. Data Movement & Utilities: Leverage database utilities such as SQL*Loader, Data Pump, and export/import tools for initial loads, migrations, and regular feeds. Stakeholder Consulting: Work closely with cross-functional logistics teams and business analysts to gather requirements, establish data dictionaries, and validate business rules. Educational qualification: B.E. / B.Tech / MCA / M.Sc in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Experience : 5+ years of hands-on experience in data modeling, engineering and database development, including participation in at least 1–2 implementation projects. Data Modeling Paradigms: Strong conceptual and practical knowledge of dimensional, logical, and physical data modeling; understanding of Data Vault architecture is a strong plus. Practical proficiency with Oracle Data Modeler or equivalent modeling tools Oracle & SQL Development: Strong hands-on proficiency in SQL and advanced PL/SQL (stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers). Strong RDBMS fundamentals, schema design, and constraints management. Solid working knowledge of SQL*Loader, Data Pump, and data movement utilities. Proven debugging techniques and query/performance tuning methodologies. Integration & Automation: Experience building data interfaces, ETL workflows, SFTP/FTP data transfer mechanisms, and basic automation scripting. Domain Knowledge (Preferred): Working knowledge or exposure to manufacturing logistics, plant supply chain, inventory movement, or warehousing (WMS/ERP interfaces). Interpersonal Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to articulate technical data designs to business and functional teams.
