Role overview
Responsibilities
- Define test objectives, test plans, and test strategies for EMS / GMS / SCADA applications across releases and maintenance cycles.
- Identify scope of testing (functional, integration, regression, upgrade, and system testing) aligned with product and release goals.
- Plan and estimate QA activities in coordination with Product Owners, Developers, and DevOps teams.
- Report, track, and verify defects with clear technical and domain context
- Validate fixes in coordination with developers and participate in RCA
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

- Under limited direction, perform complex assignments requiring diversified knowledge of Software development and software engineering to cost effectively accomplish the organization’s goals and objectives.

Requirements
- Required Masters in Power System Engineering or related engineering stream
- Minimum 5 years as a QA engineer or development experience in SCADA/EMS/GMS applications.
- Strong knowledge and experience working with power system modeling and simulation, analysis and operation, optimization, and numerical analysis methodology.
- Familiar with analytical tools, such as Load Flow, Contingency Analysis, State Estimation, AGC, Economic Dispatch and Power Systems Simulators etc.
- Demonstrated experience working in Agile development environments (e.g., Scrum, Kanban), including backlog management, sprint planning, and iterative delivery.
- Experience with Windows development environments.
- Ability to interact effectively with team members, Product management, and customers.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
Nice to have
- Experience in model prototyping through use of optimization toolkits or machine learning / AI packages
- Knowledge of Shell scripting, Python and SQL.
- Experience with Linux development environments
- Knowledge of cloud environment like Azure and virtualization.
- Solid theoretical background in Numerical Analysis Methods, Optimization Techniques, and Power System Modeling and Operation
