The company is currently preparing for its MVP launch, and this Quality Control Engineer role focuses on establishing quality foundations from the ground up. This is a hands-on, part-time, equity-only position for someone who enjoys bringing structure to fast-moving environments while caring deeply about data integrity and system behavior.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute test plans for backend services, APIs, and data workflows
- Maintain regression, integration, and performance testing across environments
- Collaborate with engineers to reproduce, document, and resolve issues
- Track defects and quality tasks in JIRA and follow through to resolution
- Help introduce and improve lightweight test automation where it adds real value
- Validate front-end user flows and data integrations for consistency and completeness
- Define quality metrics and contribute to release-readiness reporting
- Support build verification in containerized environments (Docker / Azure)
- Create early QA documentation, templates, and standards for future releases
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience testing backend or API-driven applications
- Experience with API testing tools (Postman, Pytest, or similar)
- Familiarity with Python-based environments (FastAPI, SQLAlchemy)
- Solid understanding of SQL databases and data validation
- Basic knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and containerized systems (Docker)
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Comfortable working in distributed, async teams (JIRA, Confluence, Git)
- Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a strong sense of ownership
