Tether is a global leader in digital finance, offering innovative solutions that empower businesses to integrate reserve-backed tokens across blockchains. The company is seeking a Program Manager with a strong background in the mining industry to lead and coordinate strategic initiatives in Central America. This role involves overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple interrelated mining projects, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, regulatory requirements, and local community expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end program management for mining initiatives in Central America, integrating exploration, technical studies, permitting, and operational readiness workstreams.
  • Define program scope, objectives, milestones, budgets, and resource plans, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (geology, engineering, environmental, legal, finance, community relations) and external consultants.
  • Manage relationships with government authorities, regulators, and local institutions to advance permits, concessions, and policy engagement.
  • Drive community and stakeholder engagement programs aligned with social license and ESG commitments.
  • Monitor program risks, dependencies, and critical path; implement mitigation plans and escalate issues to the steering committee.
  • Establish governance, reporting cadences, and KPIs across projects; produce executive-level updates.
  • Oversee program budgets, capital expenditure tracking, and vendor/contract management.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, international mining standards, and HSE requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline; postgraduate qualification in Project/Program Management, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Solid understanding of the mining lifecycle: exploration, feasibility, permitting, construction, and operations.
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in the mining industry, with at least 3-5 years managing complex programs or multi-project portfolios.
  • Program/project management certification (PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working with government authorities, regulators, and local communities, ideally in Latin America.
  • Track record managing budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams in greenfield or brownfield mining environments.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and risk-management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in program management tools (MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent) and reporting platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in Spanish and English.
  • Sound judgment, problem-solving ability, and resilience in complex, high-visibility environments.

  • Tether is a global talent powerhouse, working remotely from every corner of the world.
  • The company has grown fast, stayed lean, and secured its place as a leader in the industry.
  • Excellent English communication skills are required.
  • Recruitment scams have become increasingly common. To protect yourself, apply only through official channels, verify the recruiter’s identity, be cautious of unusual communication methods, double-check email addresses, and never provide financial details.
