Role overview
Makersite is a fast‑growing platform enabling sustainable product development through digital collaboration and lifecycle management. The (Senior) Python Engineer will design and implement backend services, data‑powered REST APIs, and end‑to‑end data pipelines and AI models, working closely with customers, UX designers, and front‑end engineers to drive the digital transformation of industries worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Help create functional requirements together with our customers.
- Collaborate with UX designers to develop and implement requirements.
- Build efficient data‑powered REST APIs in Python.
- Build end‑to‑end data pipelines and AI models needed for your APIs.
- Collaborate with front‑end engineers to integrate with your APIs.
- Contribute to testing and bug fixes.
Requirements
- 3 – 5 years of experience as a Python backend developer, ideally 2+ years in a B2B environment.
- Comfortable speaking with customers clearly to understand requirements.
- Experience with Python frameworks (e.g., Flask, Bottle), Amazon Web Services (AWS) and REST.
- Solid understanding of databases and SQL, preferably graph databases.
- Experience building data pipelines with complex data.
- Experience with large, enterprise‑grade applications.
- Located in Germany or Europe.
- A degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
Nice to have
- Preferably experience with graph databases.
- Experience with AI/ML model development beyond the basic pipeline implementation.
