Test Engineer Vapotherm About Company Vapotherm is a US-based medical device company developing advanced respiratory and ventilation technologies used by healthcare providers worldwide. As part of its growing India engineering team, the company is building a dedicated Device Verification & Validation function focused on testing connected medical devices that combine hardware, firmware, and software. If you enjoy hands-on product testing, solving real engineering problems, and working with physical devices rather than only web or mobile applications, this is an opportunity to work on products that directly impact patient care. Job Roles & Responsibilities Execute functional, integration, system, regression, and verification tests on respiratory and ventilation medical devices while ensuring product behavior matches defined requirements. Validate hardware behavior alongside software readouts, identify inconsistencies, reproduce issues, and determine whether defects originate from hardware, firmware, software, or system integration. Perform hands-on testing of physical medical devices, document observations, create detailed defect reports, and provide clear reproduction steps for engineering teams. Collaborate with software, firmware, hardware, and product engineering teams across India, Singapore, and the US to investigate issues and improve overall product quality. Maintain accurate test documentation, execution records, validation evidence, and verification reports while following structured engineering and quality processes. Ideal Candidate Profile 3–6 years of experience in software testing, system testing, verification & validation, product testing, or quality engineering, preferably involving embedded systems or medical devices. Strong understanding of functional, integration, regression, and system testing with excellent defect identification, debugging, and documentation skills. Comfortable testing physical hardware products while understanding interactions between hardware, firmware, and software components. Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to produce clear bug reports, test evidence, and validation documentation. Based in Bengaluru/Karnataka or willing to relocate, with availability to work from Vapotherm's Bengaluru office during the initial onboarding period. What We Offer Opportunity to join a global medical device company building its first India-based Device Verification & Validation team. Hands-on ownership of testing sophisticated respiratory devices used in real-world clinical environments. Exposure to cross-functional engineering teams across India, Singapore, and the United States while working on safety-critical healthcare products. Collaborative engineering culture focused on quality, innovation, learning, and continuous improvement.
