Role overview

This role is for a Python backend developer to build and evolve the Rank Tracker product. The position involves backend development on Python (APIs, business logic, integrations), working with PostgreSQL, participating in React/Next.js frontend development, and maintaining integrations with external services. The role is suited for someone who can independently take tasks from requirements to production-ready results, with opportunities for self-realization and career growth within a fast-growing company.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and evolve the functionality of the Rank Tracker product
  • Develop backend on Python: APIs, business logic, and integrations with external and internal services
  • Work with PostgreSQL: write and optimize SQL queries, modify database structure, and perform migrations
  • Participate in developing frontend functionality on React / Next.js
  • Maintain integrations with external APIs, including handling errors, timeouts, and retry requests
  • Write automated tests and maintain the quality of existing code
  • Refactor code and gradually eliminate technical debt
  • Participate in code review, discussion of technical solutions, and task planning
  • Independently drive tasks from understanding requirements to a production-ready result

Requirements

  • 2+ years of commercial experience in backend development on Python
  • Confident knowledge of Python, with understanding of OOP and typing
  • Practical experience developing REST APIs with FastAPI or a similar framework
  • Good knowledge of SQL and experience with PostgreSQL or another relational database
  • Experience with SQLAlchemy and Alembic or similar tools
  • Experience writing automated tests for backend code
  • Understanding of how external APIs and microservices work, and basic approaches to System Design
  • Confident work with Git, practical experience with Docker / Docker Compose
  • Understanding of core CI/CD principles
  • Ability to independently work through existing code and bring tasks to completion
  • Care and attention when working with code and production data
  • Ability to work with incomplete requirements: ask questions, clarify business logic, and propose solutions

Nice to have

  • Experience developing asynchronous applications on Python and working with background tasks / workers
  • Experience integrating with multiple external APIs and services
  • Experience with React, Next.js, or TypeScript
  • Experience with GitLab CI
  • Interest in SEO, analytics, and data-driven products
