Role overview
FractalBox is a boutique development studio providing fractional CTO & CISO services, led by experienced ex‑founders and Tech Leads from Animoca Brands, Mon Studio, PALO IT and hyper‑growth startups. We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our fast‑paced, fully remote team, working directly with Tech Leads to architect and build scalable data and cloud infrastructure for world‑class startups.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with experienced Tech Leads to architect and build scalable data and cloud infrastructure for world‑class startups.
- Architect high‑availability batch/streaming data pipelines and scalable data models.
- Architect secure, scalable cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Own and optimize CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and alerting.
- Take full ownership of projects in a fully remote environment.
Requirements
- 3‑8+ years of experience in a Backend, Data, DevOps, or SRE role.
- Proficient in TypeScript/Node.js and Python.
- Extensive experience with a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Production‑level experience with Docker, CI/CD, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Demonstrated high autonomy and ability to take full ownership in a fully remote setting.
Nice to have
- Experience with Apache Kafka, especially Confluent Cloud.
- Deep expertise with IaC tools such as Terraform or Pulumi and DevSecOps workflows.
- Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes (K8s).
- Experience building infrastructure for MLOps / AI evaluation pipelines.
