The Software Engineer Expert will join the Hitachi Vantara Product Engineering team, contributing to the development and testing of VSP One File Solutions, which merge world-class storage reliability with next-generation AI intelligence to power mission-critical sectors.
Responsibilities
- Design, development and maintenance of network storage and orchestration products
- Design, develop and maintain storage interface and orchestration products
- Work with test engineers to ensure automated test regression coverage
- Work with support engineers to diagnose and resolve escalated customer issues
Requirements
- Strong C/C++ experience in developing high-performance software for storage systems and hardware-based file systems
- Demonstrated experience in developing Linux distribution-related work
- Strong experience in networking protocols is a must including NFS, SMB file-sharing
- Strong C/C++ experience in developing high-performance data path software for storage systems and file systems
- Experience of programming in a multi-threaded environment
- Experience with one or more of the following: File systems, TCP/IP, NFS, CIFS/SMB, FTP, HTTP, iSCSI, Kerberos, LDAP
- A proven track record of delivering complex software solutions
- A demonstrable understanding of the networking protocols like SMB and NFS
- Working as part of an agile team to build high-quality software and unit tests
Nice to have
- Strong experience in one or more of the storage systems and management high availability systems is a plus
- Python experience is an added benefit
- Scrum master or product owner experience or certification is a plus
