Role overview
Launch Potato is a discovery and conversion company that reaches tens of millions of people monthly through brands like FinanceBuzz, All About Cookies, and OnlyInYourState. Their mission is to create predictable, high-value customer acquisition at scale by connecting discovery, intent, and performance across finance, travel, and entertainment sectors. The role is a hands-on Paid Social Manager for auto insurance, where the candidate owns the entire channel from strategy to execution while driving margin optimization. This position requires deep expertise in Meta and TikTok, strong compliance awareness, and direct accountability for significant spend.
Responsibilities
- Own auto insurance paid social end-to-end, including budget, bid strategy, creative roadmap, and live margin performance
- Act as Ads Manager daily, pulling numbers, setting testing agendas with the creative team, and managing tests through launch, read, and post-mortem phases
- Take full ownership of the channel and make margin decisions, such as pushing into lower ROAS for contribution dollars or pulling back when necessary
- Work directly with the Senior Director of Paid Marketing, GM of Auto Insurance, compliance, and product on funnel, landing page, and offer strategy
- Measure work by impact and margin rather than activity or task completion
- Create a creative testing roadmap with the Creative Strategist and creative team, shipping concepts at high velocity
- Develop a documented, repeatable playbook that other buyers on the team can use
- Maintain direct relationships with Meta and TikTok reps for allowlisting, beta access, and escalation paths
- Ensure compliance and product treat the candidate as a strategic partner on funnel and offer strategy
Requirements
- Four or more years in a hands-on, in-the-weeds buying role with direct margin accountability
- Experience in a compliance-heavy vertical such as insurance, lending, credit, or health where creative and landing page claims are constrained
- Fluency with tracking and attribution systems including pixel and server-side event setup, postbacks, and conversion quality assurance
- Direct accountability for CPA, ROAS, or contribution margin on monthly spend of $250,000 or more
- Deep hands-on Meta expertise covering campaign structure, bid and budget strategy, audience and placement testing, and diagnosing performance shifts
- Real TikTok scale demonstrated through meaningful spend management using allowlisting, vertical restrictions, and landing page requirements
- Strong focus on margin over brand work or agency-of-record media planning
Nice to have
- Experience in auto insurance or another regulated leadgen domain
- Advertorial or direct-response landing page funnels and conversion rate testing
- Working knowledge of AI creative generation tooling
- Familiarity with Looker
Benefits
- Remote-first team across 18 countries
- Profitable and bootstrapped company culture
- Direct line to decision-makers including Senior Director, GM of Auto Insurance, compliance, and product
- Autonomy to make margin decisions independent of external timelines
- Hands-on impact with real business outcomes
- Opportunity to build and share strategic assets like playbooks and roadmaps with the team
