Role overview
The Manager, Software Engineering – Developer Productivity leads a team focused on improving how engineers build, test, and deliver software across Genesys. This role is responsible for creating scalable tooling, automation, and development workflows that reduce friction, increase velocity, and improve software quality. The position involves driving a cohesive developer experience by standardizing tools, enabling self-service capabilities, and integrating AI-powered development workflows that help teams ship reliable software faster.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver internal developer platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and reusable tooling that streamline code development, testing, and deployment workflows
- Standardize development environments and workflows across teams using tools such as GitHub, CI/CD automation, and testing frameworks to reduce setup time and inconsistencies
- Improve developer onboarding and day-to-day productivity by creating self-service capabilities, documentation, and paved paths for common engineering tasks
- Implement automation across the software development lifecycle, including build, test, and release processes, to reduce manual effort and improve delivery speed
- Integrate AI-assisted development tools (e.g., code generation, testing automation) to enhance developer efficiency while maintaining code quality and security standards
- Establish and monitor quality metrics (e.g., build success rates, test coverage, deployment frequency) to identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers focused on developer productivity, setting clear priorities and measurable outcomes
- Partner with platform, security, and application teams to align tooling and workflows with enterprise standards and engineering needs
- Drive adoption of developer productivity tools and practices by engaging teams, gathering feedback, and iterating on solutions based on usage and impact
Requirements
- Experience leading engineering teams focused on developer productivity, DevOps, or platform engineering
- Strong experience with CI/CD systems, version control (e.g., GitHub), and automated testing frameworks
- Experience improving software delivery performance using metrics such as deployment frequency, lead time, and change failure rate
- Familiarity with cloud-native development environments and infrastructure (e.g., AWS or similar)
- Ability to drive cross-team adoption of tools and standards through influence and collaboration
- Familiarity with observability and testing tools (e.g., Playwright, Honeycomb, or similar)
- Experience in large-scale SaaS or distributed engineering organizations
- 8-10 years of relevant experience

- Experience integrating AI-powered developer tools (e.g., code assistants, automation tools) into engineering workflows
