- Implement centralised logging and telemetry solutions using Azure Monitor, Application Insights and related tooling
- Set up proactive alerting to detect and resolve potential issues before they impact users
- Architect and implement scalable infrastructure to handle increasing workloads as the platform grows
- Optimise infrastructure and application performance for maximum reliability and responsiveness
- Analyse resource utilisation, identify waste and recommend cost-saving measures
- Ensure cost-efficient deployment, scaling and lifecycle management of Azure resources
- Own and improve CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and deployment automation
- Establish infrastructure-as-code practices using Terraform, Bicep or equivalent tooling
- Enforce security best practices across all environments
- Establish and promote best practices for Azure infrastructure and DevOps processes across the engineering team
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members on cloud architecture, security and operational excellence
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Azure cloud services, including infrastructure setup, management and optimisation
- Proficiency in setting up and managing RBAC, users, groups and service principals within Azure
- Strong knowledge of Azure Monitor, Application Insights and related monitoring and observability tools
- Experience designing and building custom dashboards for resource monitoring and performance tracking
- Expertise in logging and telemetry frameworks, and setting up proactive alerting
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Azure DevOps
- Proven ability to design scalable cloud architectures and optimise for both performance and cost
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on proactive, preventative solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable mentoring engineers and advising leadership
- Comfortable working remotely and aligning to UK business hours (9:00 AM to 6:00 PM GMT/BST)
Nice to have
- Azure certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
- Knowledge of scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash or Terraform
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Bicep or ARM templates)
- Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions and serverless architectures
- Experience in cost analysis and budget management for cloud resources at scale
- Familiarity with security compliance frameworks relevant to cloud infrastructure
Benefits
- Competitive package depending on experience
- Potential share options
- Professional development including conference attendance and CPD support
- The opportunity to own cloud infrastructure strategy at one of the UK's fastest-growing healthtech companies
