Role overview
Tameson is a global e-commerce business helping SMEs source industrial components. They are seeking a Marketing Analytics Specialist to join the Data Analytics team to bring statistical rigor to the execution and measurement of paid advertising. This is a hands-on ownership role where data and marketing meet. The successful candidate will set the paid acquisition strategy, make the business case, run campaigns, and prove results with data, working directly with the Data Analytics Lead and Marketing Lead.
Responsibilities
- Extend and improve attribution work, challenge assumptions, try alternative models, and quantify uncertainty.
- Take full ownership of paid advertisement strategy, based on data insights and experimental results.
- Design experiments end-to-end: A/B, geo, holdout, CRO, all with proper power analysis, randomization, and evaluation.
- Build models that inform capital allocation across channels, such as saturation curves, diminishing returns, and MMM.
- Analyze complex datasets across customer journeys, search query data, marketplace performance, and CRM.
- Develop customer and audience models that inform who to target, where, and how much to pay to reach them.
- Build the BigQuery and Looker Studio reporting layer used to track CAC, POAS, and LTV.
- Design an experimental framework to measure the incremental effect of paid advertisement spend.
- Design and run A/B and CRO experiments to validate channel changes, on-site changes, and bidding strategies.
- Build LTV and cohort retention models to value customer segments differently and feed those values back into bidding and targeting.
- Build Markov-chain multi-touch attribution models to improve early-funnel bidding in paid ads channels.
Requirements
- Background in a quantitative field: Statistics, data science, physics, computer science or similar (University degree strongly preferred; strong demonstrable track record can substitute).
- Paid Media & Business Sense: Understanding of how paid acquisition drives revenue and profit, and the ability to turn analysis into an executable strategy.
- AI Native Efficiency: Enthusiasm for using AI and LLMs to improve productivity and enable new internal workflows.
- Outcome Owner: Driven by results like revenue and profit rather than simple output.
- Collaborative Investigator: Ability to work cross functionally with Product and Operations teams to provide data insights and measurement frameworks.
- A skeptical disposition: Uncomfortable with conclusions drawn from underpowered tests or last-click reports.
- A sharp analytical mind and a quantitative background.
- Being at home with data tools and technology.
- A good sense for what drives the business.
Nice to have
- Experience with Google Ads or other ad platforms (e.g., Microsoft Ads or Meta).
Benefits
- Direct Business Impact: Work directly correlates to sales and bottom line profitability.
- Innovation: Ability to test new channels, automate complex workflows, and deploy the latest data engineering tools.
- Company culture: Value of collaboration, professional growth, and fun, including regular online and offline company activities.
- Growth: Rapidly scaling company providing growing professional opportunities.
Additional details
- Employment type: Full-time freelance position (remote).
- Working hours: Flexible work hours, with availability required Monday through Friday and a minimum overlap of 12:00–17:00 GMT+1.
