As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will join a team designing, deploying, and operating robust, scalable infrastructure platforms that support everything from small workloads to enterprise-scale client environments, bringing an automation-first mindset to every layer of the stack. Responsibilities
- Own cloud infrastructure end-to-end: Architect, deploy, and manage highly available environments across AWS and Azure using Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and CDK, and lead production Kubernetes workloads in EKS/AKS — including upgrades, networking, and autoscaling.
- Serve as the Linux subject matter expert: Own system builds, configure and troubleshoot core services like NGINX, MariaDB, and Redis, and drive performance, security, and reliability from the kernel up.
- Operate the data and caching tier: Run and scale MariaDB/Galera clusters alongside Redis, Memcached, and Elasticsearch, applying performance tuning and IaC-driven workflows to keep everything fast and resilient.
- Engineer CI/CD and automation: Build and tune pipelines in GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and Azure DevOps, and replace repetitive operational work with robust Python and Bash scripting that accelerates developer velocity.
- Lead observability, security, and performance: Evolve monitoring across metrics, logs, and traces, harden infrastructure security, participate in incident response and the 24/7 on-call rotation, and lead load-testing efforts that drive measurable platform improvements.
- Week 1: Seamlessly integrate with engineering teams, auditing existing AWS/Azure architectures and CI/CD pipelines to understand baseline operations and client workloads.
- Month 1: Assist with the 24/7 support on-call rotation, take ownership of core infrastructure deployments, standardize IaC practices, and begin tuning Kubernetes clusters and Linux systems for optimal performance.
- Month 6: Fully optimize and automate key deployment workflows, establish highly available data tiers, and drive measurable improvements in security, observability, and overall platform reliability.
- Team Impact: Act as a critical bridge between systems and application teams, establishing robust platform engineering standards that support complex client workloads, including high-scale, highly available WordPress and headless setups.

Requirements
- Demonstrated senior-level experience in platform engineering or DevOps at scale or in multi-tenant environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS and Azure.
- Expertise in setting up, tuning, troubleshooting, and hardening Linux systems at a deep level.
- Experience taking Terraform, Ansible, Helm, or CDK projects from greenfield through long-term management.
- Proven experience operating EKS/AKS — including upgrades, networking, troubleshooting, Kubernetes PodWeaver.
- Experience managing production-grade NGINX, MariaDB/Galera, Redis/Memcached, and Elasticsearch.
- Advanced Python and/or Bash scripting skills.
- Experience building and tuning CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions, GitLab, or similar tools.
- Strong grasp of modern observability tooling and security best practices.
- Ability to write excellent documentation and work well with clients.
- Ability to bridge systems and application teams (including high-scale, highly available WordPress hosting and headless setups).
- Availability for a 24/7 support rotation.
