Role overview
The Project Manager Engineering and/or Construction & Commissioning (PCCM) role focuses on coordinating all engineering and construction activities within assigned projects. This includes ensuring efficient and cost-effective execution of multidisciplinary engineering tasks, adhering to contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. The PCCM manages Construction and Commissioning processes, supports site execution, and collaborates with the Site Manager to achieve project goals.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate Construction and Commissioning processes and activities related to project scope.
- Organize and conduct Kick Off meetings for the C&C Team.
- Prepare initial plans for Storage Location, Identification, Preservation, and Maintenance.
- Identify Construction responsibilities as per tendered budget and roles.
- Review scope, budget, and risk & opportunities of the contract with responsible Construction departments.
- Coordinate and lead handover process from Tendering to Construction, reviewing scope, schedule, and budget.
- Organize and participate in constructability strategy reviews during Notice to Proceed and Site Mobilization milestones.
- Drive site activities startup and preparation, ensuring a site execution plan is in place.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including labor laws, permits, and HSE trainings.
- Prepare and arrange to take possession of the site; develop temporary and permanent site infrastructure.
- Monitor and report on construction execution, cost, and man loading forecast and planning.
- Develop and implement mitigation plans in conjunction with the Site Manager and Construction department heads.
- Participate in monthly project reviews and present project status to the Management team.
- Ensure timely and legal appointment and delegation of required resources.
- Allocate, manage, and coordinate Non-Budgeted Costs (NBC) for proper cost reporting.
- Provide timely and accurate information to the Project Director and Construction management.
- Ensure HVDC C&C processes, instructions, and guidelines are implemented and adhered to.
- Provide structured feedback and drive constructability based on lessons learned during execution.
- Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering with relevant work experience.
- Work authorization permitting employment with Hitachi Energy.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
