Role overview
Defuse Labs builds NEAR Intents, the universal transaction layer for the AI economy — intent-based infrastructure that enables people, agents, and applications to move value across chains and assets without bridges, fragmented liquidity, or manual routing. At the center is near.com, a permissionless financial account designed to hold, grow, invest, trade, and use assets across blockchains with privacy and control. The company operates in startup mode with high ownership, fast execution, and a globally distributed team. The role is Head of Product Marketing & Growth (Lead), focusing on positioning, launching, and adopting near.com while supporting NEAR Intents product marketing.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end product marketing for near.com — positioning, messaging, go-to-market, launches, and adoption.
- Define and continuously refine target audiences, core use cases, value proposition, and competitive positioning based on user, product, and market insights.
- Act as the voice of the user, translating research, feedback, and behavioral data into actionable Product and UX recommendations.
- Partner with Product and Growth to improve acquisition, onboarding, activation, engagement, and retention, identifying and addressing key adoption barriers.
- Lead go-to-market for new features and releases, including launch strategy, messaging, distribution, and success metrics.
- Own product-facing communications and enablement, including website messaging, onboarding, launch materials, FAQs, decks, and product education.
- Support NEAR Intents product marketing and partner launches, working with BD on positioning, partner materials, co-marketing, and post-launch adoption.
- Build repeatable product marketing processes and playbooks that make launches, experimentation, and adoption initiatives more scalable.
Requirements
- 4–7 years of experience in product marketing or a closely related product role, ideally with meaningful experience at a centralized exchange, fintech company, crypto wallet, or another trading, payments, or digital-asset product.
- A proven track record of owning go-to-market for product features or integrations end-to-end — from positioning and launch through to adoption and performance tracking, not just creative execution.
- Strong understanding of exchange, wallet, or fintech users and product teams — you understand how they evaluate infrastructure, what creates friction or drives adoption, and how to translate those insights into better product and messaging decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn technical or ambiguous concepts into clear, compelling narratives for both partner teams and end users.
- Comfortable operating with ambiguity in a fast-moving, resource-lean environment — able to build processes as needed rather than relying on established structures.
- Experience working effectively in remote, globally distributed teams.
- A solid working understanding of crypto fundamentals, including wallets, custody, swaps, and cross-chain transfers.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with technical and engineering teams to work closely with during product development.
- Understanding of how users discover and evaluate financial or crypto products, creating trust and reducing friction.
