Role overview
As a member of Sprinto's engineering team (referred to as a Sprinter), you will work across the full stack—frontend, backend, and infrastructure—providing technical guidance and architectural leadership, avoiding over‑engineering, making pragmatic trade‑offs that serve customer problems, and delivering solutions that keep the organization audit‑ready and secure. The role expects a minimum of four years of programming experience, comfort moving between layers, a pragmatic mindset, and business awareness, while offering a fully remote environment with generous learning, wellness, and workspace stipends.
Responsibilities
- Work across the entire stack — seamlessly transitioning between frontend, backend, and infrastructure tasks rather than staying boxed into one layer.
- Be the go-to person for technical guidance and architectural decisions within the team — assuming a leadership role when systems face challenges and driving effective problem resolution.
- Apply a discerning eye to identify and address premature over-engineering, keeping projects moving efficiently instead of gold-plating.
- Navigate long-term trade-offs — recognise the downstream consequences of programming choices and optimise solutions accordingly.
- Ship with the business in mind — code serves the customer problem it aims to solve, and you thrive on making informed trade-offs that address those problems efficiently.
Requirements
- A minimum of four years of professional programming experience, preferably within a small team where individual ownership is high.
- Language- and tool-agnostic — not dogmatic about a specific programming language, editor, or library; you pick what fits the problem.
- A holistic engineer — comfortable moving fluidly across frontend, backend, and infrastructure rather than identifying with a single specialty.
- A pragmatist over a perfectionist — you spot over-engineering early and know when "good enough now" beats "perfect later."
- Business-aware — you understand that engineering decisions are trade-offs in service of the customer problem, and you're energised by making those calls well.
