Senior Security Engineer

We are looking for a Security Engineer with strong security research capabilities and solid engineering skills. This role focuses on analysing security standards, defining security signals, and translating governance requirements into scalable, measurable platform implementations.  This is a hands-on role that blends security research, data-driven analysis, and practical engineering execution. Key Responsibilities  • Analyse security standards, policies, and compliance frameworks (internal + external) and translate them into actionable controls  • Define and evolve security posture signals (what to measure, how to measure, expected thresholds)  • Map security requirements to real-world service implementations and telemetry  • Work with engineering teams to onboard services into posture evaluation systems (signals platforms)  • Identify gaps in coverage, signal quality, and enforcement of security controls  • Build lightweight tools, queries, and scripts to validate, analyse, and operationalise security signals  • Support development of risk prioritisation models based on signal data and business impact  • Reduce noise by improving signal precision, deduplication, and relevance scoring  • Partner with platform teams to integrate security checks into engineering workflows and CI/CD pipelines  • Document findings, recommendations, and decision rationale in a way that is consumable by engineering teams  Required Qualifications   • 5–7+ years of experience in Security Engineering, Security Research, or Cloud Security roles  • Strong understanding of enterprise security concepts:   o Identity & access (OAuth, RBAC, token systems)  o Data protection & encryption  o Network isolation & segmentation  o Secure configuration practices  • Demonstrated ability to interpret security standards / compliance frameworks and apply them in practical scenarios  • Experience analysing security telemetry / logs / posture data  • Hands-on experience with data/query tools (e.g., KQL, SQL, or similar)  • Ability to write scripts/tools (Python / PowerShell) to automate analysis or validation  • Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure preferred)  • Strong analytical thinking and ability to break down ambiguous security problems  Preferred Qualifications  • Experience working with security posture platforms, compliance systems, or risk frameworks  • Exposure to risk prioritisation, scoring models, or security metrics design  • Experience with large-scale telemetry systems (e.g., Kusto pipelines or equivalent)  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and integrating security into engineering workflows  Show more
