Role overview

Hitachi, Ltd. is seeking a talented Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure and reliable network infrastructure — a role crucial for ensuring seamless connectivity and optimal performance across global operations.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and deploy network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Monitor network performance, identify issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Troubleshoot complex network problems, including connectivity, performance, and security-related incidents.
- Implement and maintain network security policies and procedures, including access control lists, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Perform regular network audits and assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with other IT teams and business units to understand requirements and provide network solutions.
- Participate in on-call rotation for network support and incident response.
- Evaluate and recommend new network technologies and solutions to improve efficiency and security.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Network Engineer in an enterprise environment.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, etc.) and network services (DNS, DHCP).
- Proficiency with Cisco networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls) is essential.
- Experience with network security best practices and technologies (e.g., VPNs, firewalls, IDS/IPS).
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Nice to have
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIP) are highly desirable.
- Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
