Role overview
Jumio is seeking a Principal iOS Engineer to further develop and architect its core native iOS SDK, which already serves over 100 million users. The role combines mobile native technologies with ML and CV, requiring someone comfortable switching between software development, architecture, business requirements gathering, and collaboration with machine learning experts. The engineer will take ownership of delivering functionality from idea creation through public release, writing clean and well-documented code with awareness of the wide impact on hundreds of well-known app store applications.
Responsibilities
- Further development and architecture of core products, mainly the native iOS SDK and sometimes end-user-facing customer applications and cross-platform deliveries
- Take ownership in delivering new functionality and fixes from idea creation, through the design phase, until public release
- Write clean, readable, and well-documented code, understanding that changes impact hundreds of well-known applications in the App Store and influence the experience of an impressive number of daily unique end-users using the SDK
- Participate in resolving issues together with customers
- Collaborate with the whole R&D team / entire company to build features that matter
- Manage your own work by organizing time, prioritizing tasks, and taking ownership of topics
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in developing iOS applications in Swift
- Strong understanding of software design patterns as well as iOS specifics
- Capable of working on large-scale projects
- Obsessive in delivering quality software
- Business-driven and result-oriented individual
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, working in a high-performing team in a distributed setup
- Experience with CI/CD
- Test Automation - writing Unit and Integration tests
- Android basics and architecture
- Experience with Digital Identities or PII
- Track record of developing SDKs/Frameworks
Nice to have
- Passionate about open source
- Ruby (Fastlane)
- Experience with cross-platform frameworks is a plus (React Native, Flutter, Cordova)
