This Senior Frontend Engineer role involves developing intuitive, accessible, and high-performing web applications while collaborating with product managers, designers, backend engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into simple, dependable customer experiences.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and maintain scalable web applications using React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Translate product requirements and design specifications into intuitive, responsive, and accessible user interfaces.
- Define and evolve frontend architecture, coding standards, reusable patterns, and engineering best practices.
- Build and maintain reusable components, shared libraries, and design-system foundations.
- Integrate frontend applications with RESTful APIs, GraphQL services, and other backend systems.
- Improve application performance, reliability, security, and browser compatibility.
- Monitor and optimize Core Web Vitals, page-load performance, bundle size, and runtime efficiency.
- Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code supported by appropriate unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
- Review code, identify technical risks, and provide constructive feedback to other engineers.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues using logging, monitoring, analytics, and observability tools.
- Collaborate with product, design, backend, quality assurance, security, and infrastructure teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Break down complex initiatives into clear, achievable technical tasks and contribute to delivery planning and estimation.
- Improve development workflows through automation, tooling, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
- Contribute to technical documentation, architectural decisions, and engineering knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Mentor frontend engineers and help strengthen the team's technical capabilities.
- Evaluate emerging frontend technologies and introduce them where they provide measurable value.
Requirements
- At least seven years of professional software engineering experience, with significant experience building production-grade frontend applications.
- At least seven years of experience working with JavaScript and React.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, HTML, and modern CSS.
- A solid understanding of React concepts, including hooks, component composition, state management, routing, and rendering behavior.
- Experience designing and maintaining scalable frontend architectures and reusable component systems.
- Strong knowledge of responsive design, browser compatibility, semantic HTML, and web accessibility.
- Experience integrating frontend applications with APIs and handling authentication, authorization, validation, caching, and error states.
- Experience with frontend testing tools and practices, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Familiarity with modern frontend tooling, package managers, build systems, and continuous integration pipelines.
- Experience using Git and working within collaborative code-review processes.
- An understanding of frontend performance optimization, application security, and production monitoring.
- Experience with observability or application-monitoring platforms such as New Relic, Datadog, Sentry, or similar tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex technical issues systematically.
- Excellent communication, organization, and technical leadership skills.
- The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and take ownership of outcomes.
- Experience working in an agile product-development environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with Next.js or another React-based application framework.
- Experience with GraphQL, server-side rendering, static-site generation, or micro-frontend architectures.
- Experience building or contributing to a design system.
- Familiarity with frontend security practices and secure development principles.
- Experience with feature flags, experimentation, product analytics, and data-informed development.
- Experience working on high-traffic, transaction-heavy, financial, or other highly regulated products.
- Experience mentoring engineers or leading frontend technical initiatives.
