Role overview

This role targets a strong leader to join the Compliance Department and build the marketing compliance function, requiring a blend of strategic oversight and hands-on involvement in marketing lifecycle governance to ensure regulatory adherence and business enablement.
Responsibilities
- Lead a marketing compliance function and scale up the team
- Design and implement a scalable global compliance framework supported by policies and procedures governing marketing and external communications (advertising, promotions, social media, product launch communications)
- Develop and maintain marketing compliance policies and procedures tailored to the unique risks associated with both CeFi and DeFi offerings
- Work closely with Legal and Compliance teams to define and operationalize a review and approval process for marketing and product communications, ensuring timely and compliant go-to-market execution
- Establish a robust and effective ongoing post-publication monitoring program to ensure that post-campaign marketing materials (including social media and engagement with influencers/KOLs and affiliates) and lookbacks adhere to global and local marketing standards
- Leverage AI-enabled technological solutions to develop a holistic global marketing compliance controls framework that can scale appropriately with the business’ growth
- Track, report, and remediate incidents or issues arising from marketing activities
- Monitor global regulatory developments relevant to crypto marketing and advertising, proactively assessing and implementing required changes to the marketing compliance program based on regulatory updates
- Partner with Product, Legal, Risk, Central Compliance and Marketing teams to ensure all product launch communications and campaigns are fully compliant with global regulations and company policies
- Support the business in making decisions while considering regulatory risks and compliance obligations
- Develop materials to improve understanding of compliance and regulatory risks across teams and deliver regular training and knowledge-sharing sessions
Requirements
- Experience as a lead in compliance, legal, or marketing compliance roles, ideally within financial services or fintech
- Ability to multi-task and work in a high-paced environment
- Deep understanding of marketing regulations and standards across key jurisdictions (US, UK, EU, APAC)
- Experience in crypto, blockchain, or digital assets, with strong familiarity with both CeFi and DeFi ecosystems
- Proven ability to design and implement compliance frameworks and controls from scratch
- Excellent stakeholder management and communications skills across global and cross-functional teams
- Experience engaging with regulatory bodies or supporting regulatory audits or exams
- Prior experience in a high-growth tech or startup environment
