This fully remote role is a member of technical staff on the Engineering Operations team, focused on GitLab application maintenance, improvement, user support, capability expansion in collaboration with Engineering teams, and support for other engineering applications including Confluence and CodeCollaborator. The position requires working 8AM-5PM Pacific Time Zone (India Night Shift) to align with U.S. Engineering team support needs.
Responsibilities
- Support and expand GitLab and other engineering applications including Confluence and CodeCollaborator
- Work with internal customers on application issues
- Participate in global infrastructure and development projects
- Provide guidance on technical issues and processes to junior members of the team
- Perform code and design reviews
Requirements
- BE/MTech degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent technical degree
- Minimum 8 to 12 years of relevant professional experience
- 5+ years of experience supporting and expanding GitLab, including Agile Planning, pipelines, CI/CD, administration of users and groups/projects, and deep familiarity with GitLab APIs
- 3-5 years of front-line application support and customer interaction experience
- 3-5 years of Linux user experience
- 5 years of Jenkins administration experience
- 5 years of Kubernetes development experience
- Programming and scripting experience using Python, Shell, REST API services, etc.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, etc.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Self-managed and fast learner
- Good verbal and written communication skills and active listening ability
- Exceptional team player with strong collaborative skills
Nice to have
- Linux system administration experience
- Understanding of MySQL and PostgreSQL
