Role overview

Ritual is building a sovereign execution layer for AI, with its private testnet already live; its custom-built Ritual chain is the first blockchain designed for AI-native operations to support a new class of crypto-AI applications, and its first product Infernet enables developers to access AI models both on-chain via smart contracts and off-chain. This role is centered on research and development at the intersection of AI, cryptography, and blockchain, with core work focused on prototyping new mechanisms, productionizing research outputs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver real-world impact via open-source community-aligned work.

Responsibilities

Prototype new mechanisms and work to productionize research outputs
Work at the frontier of modern cryptographic schemes and open-source AI
Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to ensure research has real-world impact
Release work into the open-source world and build alongside the Ritual community

Requirements

Intellectually curious about the latest advancements in machine learning, cryptography, and how they intersect
Desire to see research go beyond academic papers and have a tangible impact
Experience with taking research projects or experiments from ideation to prototype code, or implementation either on your own or coordinating with engineering teams
Ability to complete quick iteration and development cycles on writing and/or proof-of-concept

Nice to have

Existing research or writing published in conferences or journals
Comfort with algebraic structures, distributed systems, mechanism design, or statistical modeling
