Role overview
BlackRock is seeking a Transaction Management Operations Vice President to join its Outsourced Platform Services (OPS) team, which supports middle and back-office services globally, including trade confirmations, settlement governance, collateral management, and more. The role involves resolving exceptions related to trade confirmation, settlement, and collateral management, leading teams, analyzing data to improve processes, and collaborating with stakeholders to drive operational efficiency and risk mitigation. Responsibilities
- Work with Counterparties, Clearing Brokers, FCMs and Custodians to resolve Exceptions related to Confirmation & Settlement of trades, collateral management and other post trade lifecycle events
- Ability to balance people and functional management. Likely managing team of FTE
- Work with stakeholders to identify all failed trades and the cause of trade failure and work towards resolution of such Fails with Counterparties and internal stakeholders
- Resolve collateral disputes or clear exceptions related to MTM and contract disputes
- Capacity to balance multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to varying shift schedules
- Data analysis enhancing transparency, decision drivers and efficiency
- Ability to evaluate systems and procedures and make recommendations for improvement
- Participate in various efficiency and capacity-building initiatives, including automation/ standardization efforts
- Understanding upstream processes is impactful to reconciliation and develop ability to correlate the effect of change
- Maintain accurate process documents and train team members to ensure holistic understanding
- Accurately record metrics related to responsibilities to enable management to have a good view of team productivity and efficiency
Requirements
- BS/MBA in business, finance or related field
- 10-14 years working in Investment Operations with proficiency in trade confirmations and settlements
- Proven track record of leading and motivating teams
- A strong emphasis on time management in addition to being well organized and detail-oriented
- Understanding of financial instruments with an emphasis on Fixed Income, Equity and Derivative products
- Great teammate with attention to details, problem solving abilities, and analytical skills
- Ability to multitask and be flexible in terms of working in shifts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Power BI and SQL
- The ability to perform effectively amid rapid and continual changes
- Excellent communication skills to effectively articulate solutions with partners
