Role overview
Lead Software Engineer position requiring a strong engineering background and proven track record leading development teams at First Advantage. The role focuses on next-generation global platform architecture, team management with a 'leader-as-servant' approach, and driving organizational alignment toward business objectives through technical leadership, mentorship, and Agile/DevOps influence.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive key pieces of First Advantage’s next-generation global platform architecture and implementation – 10%
- Drive organizational alignment with goals, priorities and team allocation to achieve business objectives - 5%
- Be a champion for the Agile Scrum framework and DevOps approach within the team. Influence the right behaviors and outcomes on the part of other teams - 10%
- Manage team of developers, designing and implementing new functionality, as well as improving existing products - 25%
- Recruit top talent - 5%
- Own scheduling and on-time delivery of features throughout the software development lifecycle - 10%
- Work across engineering, operations, and business partner teams to deliver highly scalable and reliable enterprise services - 10%
- Regularly communicate program / project status to stakeholders - 5%
- Model performance excellence and mentor your team to do the same - 10%
- Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity - 5%
- Support continuous process improvement and innovation - 5%
Requirements
- BE/BTech/BS or master’s in computer science or related discipline
- Overall 10+ years of experience with hands-on experience in software development and quality assurance.
- 5+ years in a technical leadership role with hands-on experience in software development and quality assurance.
Nice to have
- Demonstrated experience in driving development and delivery within an Agile (Scrum or Kanban) / DevOps environment.
- Strong architecture, design, and implementation skills with a strong coding background in C#.
- Comfort working with GIT based source control in a collaborative environment
- Experience with .Net, .NET Core, MVC, ASP.Net, Windows Services, Windows Applications, MS SQL Server
- Technical leadership experience with RESTful API, JSON, and XML based projects
- Experience with NLog, log4net, or similar logging frameworks
- Experience with cloud technologies, particularly AWS with familiarity with AWS CLI/CFT etc., and microservice-based architecture is strongly desired.
- High degree of competency within all phases of project management / SDLC including issue and risk identification and management, change management, tracking dependencies and milestones, and communication of overall project status.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills across, up, and down the organization.
- Demonstrated maturity, judgment, negotiation and analytical skills.
- A strong drive and passion to learn new businesses and internet technologies.
