Role overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a DevOps Engineer to join our Digital Technology team here at Harrods. This role is responsible for supporting and overall service of all production and non-production application environments across the digital estate, as well as ownership and management of all associated deployment pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining/Triaging incidents/requests and complex problems in Harrods ITSM tool and work Queue.
- Improving, building, and supporting the deployment pipelines across all environments, and coordinating with the Test Manager to ensure releases are planned and deployed on schedule.
- Supports the agile process by effectively breaking down user stories into manageable tasks, supporting the sprint refinement sessions and highlighting missed requirements and areas that need to be analysed and included.
- Learning about new tools and processes and generally keeping up-to-date with technological advances, seeking opportunities to share knowledge and encouraging others to research or learn.
- Collaborating with a variety of different teams across the Harrods business, including the wider IT function and third‑party technology partners, to ensure seamless service.
- Ensuring monitoring, security, and performance implications are considered and that the correct measures are put in place to detect problems at the earliest opportunity.
Requirements
- Hands‑on experience in cloud technologies (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, Serverless, Containerization, Low code and automation).
- Previous experience in writing and deploying Infrastructure‑as‑code configurations.
- Experience or knowledge of using Azure Cloud.
- Knowledge of using Azure DevOps or Jira.
- Knowledge or experience of ITIL (managing Incidents, Change & requests).
- Knowledge or experience of IAC (Terraform / Pulumi).
- Experience with Core Infrastructure and Networking using Cloud or On‑Prem Servers.
