Role overview
Everis is a remote-first software company that acquires and improves promising mobile apps and SaaS companies. They are seeking an accomplished software engineer for Pebble, a speaking-first language-learning app for iOS and Android, to handle both engineering depth and product-driven growth experimentation. This is an engineering role with responsibility for product outcomes, where the hire will identify product problems, decide what to test, build solutions, and measure outcomes to determine next steps, working directly with founders and leadership.
Responsibilities
- Build, ship, and improve Pebble’s mobile applications.
- Find friction across onboarding, activation, engagement, retention, conversion, and monetization.
- Turn product questions into improvements, prototypes, A/B tests, and other useful experiments.
- Use product and user data to understand behavior and decide what should be built next.
- Define success measures, analyze results, and act on what you learn.
- Work directly with our founders and product and business leadership.
- Balance strong engineering with the speed required to test ideas and learn.
Requirements
- Must have built, shipped, and supported a production mobile app (a real product used by real people, not just a demo or code sample).
- Meaningful evidence of at least one of the following: growth experimentation, A/B or split testing, conversion optimization, product ownership, building and operating your own software product.
- Strong engineering fundamentals and sound judgment about reliability, maintainability, quality, and speed.
- Experience with Flutter/Dart, TypeScript/NestJS, MongoDB, or close equivalents.
- Experience with App Store or Google Play subscriptions, paywalls, payments, or trial-to-paid journeys.
- Demonstrated success building and shipping production mobile applications using iOS, Android, cross-platform, or another credible mobile environment.
- Evidence of thinking beyond implementation (e.g., helping decide what to build and why, independently taking production software from problem through implementation, release, and iteration, or framing problems and making trade-offs).
Nice to have
- Experience improving a real flow: onboarding, activation, a paywall, trial-to-paid, checkout, or another point where users dropped.
- Experience building, launching, and iterating on a product of your own based on real user data.
