Role overview
Join our highly skilled Security team, part of Akamai's Security organization that develops products and platforms focused on security. The Bot & Agent Control product provides top‑tier cloud computing security, prevents data theft, and mitigates large account takeover attempts, handling petabytes of data and billions of secure transactions daily. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Bot & Agent Control Engineering team, you will build highly usable, reliable, and scalable software solutions for bot threat detection, protection, and control, helping customers manage bot traffic and improve the internet for millions of people.
Responsibilities
- Work on projects that improve our bot detection products, making Akamai a leader in bot detection.
- Implement new features from scratch, enhance existing features, and optimize existing functionality from conception and design through testing and deployment.
- Collaborate with Level 3 support to troubleshoot complex problems and address customer issues.
- Perform data analysis for web and mobile platforms.
- Make improvements to client‑side components such as JavaScript as needed.
Requirements
- 8+ years of overall software development experience and a relevant degree in Computer Science.
- 5+ years of experience with JavaScript and Java/Python for web development and web API development.
- Good understanding of data formats such as JSON and XML.
- Work experience or understanding of machine learning or data science.
- Ability to design with best‑possible architectures and write clean, well‑structured code.
