Role overview
WorldWinner is a competitive skill games technology platform and brand, founded in 1999 and backed by Platinum Equity, which operates both its own consumer brand and partners with FanDuel for FanDuel Faceoff. The company is currently building the next phase of its platform on mobile and beyond, featuring over 20 challenging games of skill.
Responsibilities
- Run intake and triage for central services, DevOps and data.
- Decide what each request is, who it goes to, and when it’s back.
- Keep one view of what's in flight across teams, so parallel work doesn't collide or spoil someone else's results.
- Report what shipped, what's rolling out and what's stuck, and write the summary that explains why we chose what we chose.
- Notice when work stops moving, and do something about it.
- Lead a small team of contract engineers in central services and data.
- Set priorities, run 1:1s and give us a straight read on how they're doing.
- Automate the connective tissue by scripting against APIs so status moves on its own instead of being chased.
- Build the dashboards showing the health and status of the whole landscape, including apps, infrastructure, data, and shipping.
- Use AI properly, as the company uses it heavily across engineering.
- Run the delivery basics: planning, commitments, retrospectives, and a clear picture of who owns what in a release.
Requirements
- Professional experience writing and shipping software, with a transition toward programs and delivery.
- Ability to read code, write scripts, and talk to engineers as a peer.
- Experience automating own work by calling APIs and wiring tools together.
- Serious experience using AI tools and a formed view on their efficacy.
- Owned delivery or release reporting for a team that ships regularly.
- Experience leading engineers, even a small group.
- Good judgment about what's urgent versus what is only loud.
- Clear writing skills.
- Calm under pressure and the presence to ensure people bring problems early.
Nice to have
- Live-service, real-money or regulated-product experience.
- Mobile release management for Apple App Store or Google Play.
- Administering Jira or Confluence.
- Incident response and on-call practice.
- AWS or another cloud provider experience.
