Role overview
YipitData is seeking a Senior SDET for a fully remote role based in India, with standard working hours from 8am to 5pm IST. In this position, you will be responsible for developing comprehensive test plans, creating and maintaining automated testing frameworks, performing performance and stress testing, managing defects, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality deliveries across complex, fast-paced projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive test plans covering manual, automated, and performance testing based on an understanding of product requirements and business processes.
- Create and maintain efficient automated testing frameworks, writing test scripts and implementing automated testing processes.
- Accurately record and track defects found during testing.
- Maintain close communication with cross-functional team members, collaborate to solve problems during testing, and promote the smooth progress of projects.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in quality assurance or software testing, with experience working in fast-paced and complex project environments preferred.
- 5 years of experience in automated testing and test case design, and be familiar with test plan development.
- Have defined and evolved test strategies and driving quality for big and complex releases.
- Proficient in at least one programming language, such as C, C++, Java, Go, Python, JavaScript, C#, etc.
- Rich experience in automated testing and be familiar with various automated testing frameworks and tools, such as Selenium, Robot Framework, etc.
- Proficient in API testing (such as Postman, REST Assured) and performance testing (such as JMeter, Gatling).
- Understand database operations (such as SQL) and have the ability to operate in a Linux environment.
- Familiar with Agile development methods and are able to work efficiently in an Agile team.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, and be able to quickly locate and solve complex problems during software testing.
- Good organizational, collaborative, and time-management skills, and be able to work effectively in a multi-tasking and cross-team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to communicate clearly and effectively with people from different departments and levels.
- Ability to work independently, complete tasks with limited guidance, and be proactive in learning and adapting to new work requirements.
- Innovative mindset and a passion for learning new technologies, and be able to continuously explore and apply new testing methods and technologies to improve the efficiency and quality of testing work.
Nice to have
- Have designed and developed QA tools and services other than standard API/UI automation frameworks.
- Are familiar with professional QA methodologies and tools.
- Have a good understanding of QA-related Python.
- Know how to use stress testing tools, have experience for API and backend features performance tests.
- Possess knowledge of SQL, Docker, Linux basics, and Pytest.
