The Staff Solutions Architect serves as Temporal's primary customer-facing technical leader within the Banking team, concentrating on the APJ (India) region. This role involves collaborating directly with prospects and customers to evaluate application suitability for Temporal’s platform, demonstrating the technical advantages of its cloud service, and positioning Temporal against competing technologies. The individual will play a key role in expanding production application usage among customer engineering teams, managing relationships with technical decision-makers, and partnering with Account Executives to drive strategic account plans.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with prospects to determine if their applications fit Temporal’s platform well.
- Educate customers and prospects on the technical benefits and limitations of Temporal’s platform and cloud service.
- Position Temporal as a leading solution against competing technologies and architectural patterns.
- Foster an environment within customer engineering organizations to increase the adoption and expansion of Temporal in production environments.
- Partner closely with Account Executives to develop and execute comprehensive account plans.
- Manage and nurture relationships with technical decision-makers within customer organizations, ensuring they fully leverage Temporal’s capabilities.
- Serve as a strategic technical advisor to Sales Account Executives, assisting with scoping and sizing opportunities and offering guidance on technical fit and challenges.
Requirements
- Reside within Bangalore, India.
- Exceptional technical communication skills, including presenting, whiteboarding, and writing.
- Deep understanding of distributed system technologies, design principles, and best practices.
- Proficiency in building application prototypes and providing design, development, build, and deployment guidance using one or more of Temporal’s supported languages: Java, Golang, TypeScript, Python, C# or PHP.
- Firm grasp of operational considerations in production environments, such as security, reliability, performance, cost management, and operations.
- Ability to provide insightful advice on architectural topics, including application patterns and platform architectures.
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider and familiarity with commonly used application development and production services.
Nice to have
- Prior experience with FinTech and/or FinServe.
- Likes to learn new technical topics, often directly from Engineering
- Can come up to speed without any sales-specific training (i.e., from docs, videos & conversations)
- Partners well with engineers working at customer organizations
