You'll work on embedded platforms that power critical infrastructure for electrical trade, industry, and public institutions. Our client has decades of expertise in high-quality measurement technology with "Made in Germany" standards. You'll take hands-on ownership of embedded Linux systems throughout their lifecycle ensuring security, stability, and long-term maintainability while implementing new features and hardware connectivity. This role offers deep technical work across system maintenance, driver development, and industrial interface implementation, collaborating closely with hardware and product teams to deliver reliable, production grade embedded solutions.

Responsibilities

Manage embedded Linux system lifecycle including security patches, updates, and long term support
Implement and extend features on Linux based embedded measurement platforms
Develop and maintain hardware related peripheral drivers for connected measurement devices
Build and integrate industrial and IoT communication interfaces for device connectivity

Requirements

Strong knowledge of system configuration, instrumentation, security, permissions, power management, and memory management
Hands-on experience building and maintaining embedded Linux distributions with Yocto
Experience with FOSS handling, SBOM generation, CVE tracking, and patch management
Proven experience developing hardware-related peripheral drivers
Familiarity with IoT and industrial protocols (e.g., Profinet, IEC61850, MQTT)
Experience with automated workflows, GitLab, Jira, and CI/CD practices
Ability to produce clear, structured technical documentation
Fluency in English
