Role overview

Tether is a global financial pioneer empowering businesses to integrate reserve-backed tokens across blockchains, while also expanding into energy solutions (Tether Power), AI and P2P technology (Tether Data), and digital learning (Tether Education). They are seeking a Developer Productivity Engineer to help QVAC application teams develop, review, test, and deliver reliable software with less friction, focusing on desktop and mobile applications, shared runtime, AI harness, and skills packages. This is a hands-on engineering role where you will build and maintain developer tools, integrate AI agents into engineering workflows, and improve code quality and delivery automation. You will work directly with engineers to identify improvements and own them from implementation through adoption and ongoing support to achieve shorter feedback loops and dependable automation.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, integrate, and maintain developer tools and AI agents, including the repository guidance and integrations they need to work effectively.
  • Build and operate agents in CI and scheduled workflows that investigate failures, propose fixes, and give engineers evidence they can act on.
  • Improve automated pull request reviews, evaluating finding accuracy and reducing noise for reviewers.
  • Develop code quality scripts and checks for complexity, function and file size, dependency cycles, and performance regressions.
  • Work with package owners on practical thresholds and targeted refactoring.
  • Improve development environments, testing, and build and release workflows so engineers and agents can verify changes reliably.
  • Prioritize improvements with engineering teams, support adoption through documentation and onboarding, and measure effectiveness, reliability, and operating costs.
  • Choose and refine workflows with the engineers who use them, including projects such as agents that investigate CI failures, diagnose compatibility and performance regressions, and flag changes that affect package interfaces or architecture.

Requirements

  • Experience building and maintaining developer tools or engineering automation used by others, with strong JavaScript/TypeScript and skills.
  • Hands-on experience using and integrating AI coding tools or agents, with sound judgment about their limitations, output validation, and human review.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and systematic debugging of build, test, or integration failures.
  • A strong approach to code quality: maintainable code, useful automated checks, and refactoring that preserves behavior.
  • Ability to work independently, collaborate with engineers, and communicate clearly in English within a remote, globally distributed team.
  • Excellent English communication skills.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to collaborate with some of the brightest minds in a global talent powerhouse working remotely from every corner of the world.
