The Data Scientist role focuses on building data science and machine learning solutions that drive the online luxury off‑price business, delivering end‑to‑end solutions for business stakeholders and supporting the company’s digitally native, customer‑centric model.
Responsibilities
- Build data science and machine learning solutions for business stakeholders.
- Own a business problem and deliver an end‑to‑end solution by applying advanced machine learning algorithms and complex statistical models on large volumes of data.
- Support the team in demonstrating to business stakeholders the value of the solution.
- Collaborate with other team members in achieving data science outcomes and handle multiple products and initiatives.
- Follow industry best practices, stay up to date with and extend the state of the art in machine learning research and practice, and drive innovation by contributing towards publications and patents.
- Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
- Apply a product mindset when designing solutions and manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
- Collaborate and work in agile data‑science sprint projects, contributing as a team player.
Requirements
- Excellent knowledge of the foundations of machine learning and statistics and high proficiency in data mining, modeling, validation, and insight generation.
- Solid experience working with state‑of‑the‑art supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms on real‑world problems, preferably in ecommerce and retail domains.
- Strong Python coding skills and flexibility in coding languages.
- Expertise in SQL and ability to work with Spark within a big‑data ecosystem.
- Understanding of cloud computing platforms like AWS and large‑scale databases.
- Ability to understand business needs, strong stakeholder management capabilities, and a product mindset when designing solutions.
- Proven ability to collaborate and work in teams; experienced in agile format on data science sprint projects.
