Role overview
As a Cloud Specialist, you will be primarily responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the data acquisition and processing pipelines that power Hyland's Migration Intelligence and Automation platform. You will ensure that metadata is reliably discovered, ingested, transformed, and made available for downstream analytics and decision‑making. This role is remote, based in India, and is ideal for a technically driven professional who is passionate about data engineering, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is committed to building scalable, high‑quality data solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement automated data discovery mechanisms across cloud and on‑premise systems; develop and maintain API integrations, connectors, and ingestion pipelines; identify and onboard new data sources required for migration intelligence
- Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL, Fabric, or equivalent platforms; implement data transformation, normalization, and enrichment logic; optimize pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability
- Implement data quality controls to ensure data completeness, standardization, and deduplication; apply business rules defined by the architecture to ensure consistent and reliable outputs
- Diagnose and resolve issues in data pipelines, ingestion processes, and transformation logic; partner with Data Specialists and Architects to address root causes and improve overall system design
- Develop and maintain secure, scalable integrations with internal and external data sources to support the Migration Intelligence and Automation platform
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Data Specialists and Architects to continuously improve pipeline performance, data reliability, and overall platform capability
Requirements
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience, with advanced SQL and data transformation expertise and experience with data pipelines/ETL tools such as Microsoft Fabric, ADF, or Databricks
- 3+ years of experience
- Strong experience with APIs and data integration patterns; scripting experience in Python, PowerShell, or similar languages; solid understanding of data modeling concepts
- Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with others with discretion and tact; good collaboration and interpersonal skills applied successfully within teams and across departments
- Good critical thinking, analytical, and problem‑solving skills; good organizational, multi‑tasking, and time management skills
- Self‑motivated with the ability to manage projects to completion with oversight; ability to use original thinking to translate goals into the implementation of new ideas and design solutions
Nice to have
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Server environments including Microsoft Active Directory, networking, storage, and virtualization technologies
- Basic experience with process improvement and resolving complex technical issues in data engineering environments
- Good ability to establish rapport and gain the trust of others; effective at gaining consensus across data, engineering, and architecture teams
- Good ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and tact; strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to continuously improve data pipeline reliability, scalability, and performance in a cloud‑first environment
