Role overview
Velocix develops industry-leading video delivery solutions used by telecommunications operators, broadcasters, and streaming providers around the world, including CDNs, Origin platforms, Video Recording Managers, Video Personalization Platforms, and Analytics solutions. As part of the global Engineering organization, you will contribute to building, testing, maintaining, and enhancing products that power large-scale video delivery and streaming services. This role is open to professionals across a range of experience levels, from engineers early in their careers to experienced technical leaders. Depending on experience and expertise, responsibilities may focus on software development, quality engineering, test automation, system integration, technical leadership, or a combination of these areas.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software solutions.
- Participate in requirements analysis, technical design, development, and implementation activities.
- Develop high-quality, maintainable, secure, and performant applications and services.
- Build and enhance distributed systems and microservices-based platforms.
- Develop backend services, APIs, and user-facing applications.
- Write and maintain unit tests and automated test suites.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during development, testing, and production operations.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, feature specifications, and user guides.
- Participate in Agile and Scrum ceremonies.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, QA, Support, and Operations teams.
- Contribute to release planning and delivery activities.
- Share knowledge and mentor team members where appropriate.
- Support continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and methodologies.
Requirements
- Experience with one or more programming languages: C, C++, Java, Python, Go
- Experience with: REST APIs, Microservices architectures, Distributed systems, Backend development, Frontend development, Software design and architecture principles
- Experience with databases and data platforms such as: SQL databases, NoSQL databases, MariaDB, ClickHouse
- Experience with messaging and event-driven systems such as: Kafka
- Experience with: Cloud computing platforms, Cloud-native application development, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure automation
- Exposure to tools such as: Terraform, Puppet, GitLab or similar version control platforms
- Strong understanding of Linux operating systems.
- Experience with Linux application development and administration.
- Familiarity with command-line environments and scripting.
- An understanding of: Enterprise networking concepts, Virtualization platforms, Network troubleshooting, Infrastructure and system integration
- Experience with technologies such as: VMware, ESXi, vSphere, OpenStack, KVM
- Mid-level engineers: Experience delivering software products in production environments.
- Mid-level engineers: Ability to work independently on development or testing initiatives.
- Mid-level engineers: Strong technical troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Senior & Lead engineers: Proven expertise designing complex systems and technical solutions.
